Culinary Excellence at Blind Spot 2025
Born in the South West of France, Jean-Marc Baqué is a passionate chef with over 30 years' experience in the restaurant industry. His career began in Albi, before he was selected as private chef to two senior generals in the French army during his military service. He then honed his skills in the Michelin-starred kitchens of Michel Guérard's Les Prés d'Eugénie (3 Michelin stars) and Meilleur Ouvrier de France Olivier Brulard. Eager for new experiences, he moved to Canada where he continued to hone his skills at renowned establishments such as Europea and Garçon in Montreal. His talent and teaching skills then led him to spend five years as a Chef Instructor at Le Cordon Bleu Ottawa, which also took him on occasional trips to the United States and South America to share his culinary experience, before joining La Cité Collégiale, where he continues to train the next generation of chefs on a part-time basis.
Now a Canadian citizen, Jean-Marc Baqué combines excellence, transmission and authenticity through Cuisine Stories as well, his company dedicated to tailor-made culinary experiences. He offers unique gastronomic events that combine creativity and expertise for individuals, companies and institutions. In 2019, he reached the final of L'International Cup Antonin Carême - Trophée du Prince Albert de Monaco, a prestigious recognition of his talent and commitment to haute gastronomy.
